The method involves developing image information (INFM) associated with an identifier (Id) corresponding to a bank card number, and storing the image information in a memory of a contactless device (WP). A recovery server (TB) is provided to recover the identifier from the image information during a transaction. The image information is transmitted by a reader on a communication channel (CH) in accordance with a protocol to banking servers (SV1, SV2). The identifier is recovered from the image information for continuing the transaction, without transmission of the identifier on the channel. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a system for securing a transaction carried out in accordance with a protocol between a device and a server via a reader connected to the server (2) a contactless device.
