The method involves collecting positioning data that is characteristic of anatomy of the foot, where the positioning data is provided with a set of positions of four points. A reference design of an upper surface (29) of a sole (27) is determined in the form of a three-dimension function. A three-dimensional form of the upper surface is defined by the adaption of the three-dimensional function to the anatomy of the foot according to the characteristic positioning data. The reference design is allowed to correspond to a desired correction. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for dimensioning of the orthopedic sole (2) a computer program product comprising instructions for performing the method for dimensioning the sole (3) a system for dimensioning of the sole.
