PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal nanoparticle composed of a plurality of metal nanocrystals having a controlled inner structure, to provide a dispersion thereof that is excellent in dispersion stability, and to provide a method for producing the metal nanoparticle and the dispersion thereof.;SOLUTION: A metal/clay mineral composite nanoparticle being composed of a plurality of metal nanocrystals and having a controlled inner structure such as a core-shell structure or a very stable dispersion of the metal/clay mineral composite nanoparticle is produced by a method comprising simultaneously adding a plurality of metal compounds including a noble metal to an aqueous dispersion of a delaminated clay mineral, followed by adding a reducing agent and holding the dispersion at a room temperature or a method comprising adding one metal compound to an aqueous dispersion of the clay mineral and dispersing the same into the aqueous dispersion, followed by adding a reducing agent, further adding another metal compound after a prescribed period of time and then holding the dispersion at a room temperature.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2015,JPO&INPIT
