PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems for example, a Young's modulus of timber is measured after the timber is trimmed and the timber is formed into a log or is lumbered conventionally, but the method is followed by tree trimming work (destruction), so that labor is required, and it was impossible to measure the Young's modulus easily, or measure continuously the Young's modulus according to the growth of the timber.;SOLUTION: A load is applied to the timber without trimming, and flexure displacement generated at the time is measured, and the Young's modulus is determined using correlation of the load and the displacement.
