PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method which allows residual stress to be estimated with high accuracy without requiring large-scaled transfer of a device or a member even when processing strain is generated.;SOLUTION: A residual stress estimation method includes: a relationship acquisition step S101 for acquiring a relationship between inherent strain and a physical amount related to residual strain for a residual stress estimation object; measurement steps S102 and S104 for measuring the physical amount related to the residual strain before and after processing the residual stress estimation object; an inherent strain estimation step S105 for determining an inherent strain estimation value for the residual stress estimation object and an estimation value of inherent strain generated by processing, on the basis of the relationship between the inherent strain and the physical amount related to the residual strain, and the physical amount related to the residual strain obtained by measurement; and a residual stress estimation step S106 for estimating residual stress for the residual stress estimation object on the basis of the inherent strain estimation value for the residual stress estimation object and the estimation value of the inherent strain caused by processing.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2015,JPO&INPIT
