PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a U-shaped groove cover configuring a drain channel for discharge water from an express highway surface, capable of effectively preventing a component (salt content) of an antifreezing agent spread on an express highway surface from flowing out along with rainwater, etc. to the outside from deteriorated portions of the drain channel in the middle of flowing in the drain channel, and from bringing about salt damage to a peripheral farm land or housing land; and a construction method of the U-shaped groove cover.SOLUTION: A U-shaped groove cover 2 includes: top edge plane parts 2a, 2b facing or in contact with left and right top edge part 1a, 1b of a U-shaped groove 1; and a substantially U-shaped part 2c facing or in contact with an internal surface 1c having a substantially U-shaped cross section of the U-shaped groove 1. The parts 2a, 2b, 2c are integrally formed of a fiber-reinforced plastic so as to be continuous with each other, and the U-shaped groove cover 2 is formed so that the thickness of the entire groove cover in a range of 1-3 mm and the entire length is longer than the length of the U-shaped groove 1 to be covered. In a construction method of the U-shaped groove cover 2, the U-shaped groove cover 2 can be efficiently attached to the U-shaped groove 1.
