Competition balls or other sports equipment and methods printed with visible light curable inks

Sporting goods, in particular competition balls, are printed with ink that is cured with light in the visible region of the electromagnetic spectrum. The ink contains a photoinitiator that absorbs light in both the ultraviolet and visible light ranges from about 400 nm to about 690 nm, a type I photoinitiator compound that absorbs only light in the visible range, or an abstractable hydrogen. A type II photoinitiator compound is used that is used in conjunction with a radically curable material containing hydrogen that can be removed or withdrawn.
