A gamma prime nickel-base superalloy suitable for making structural components (10) such as, for example, turbine discs, compressor discs, blisks, seals, shafts, retainers or other turbomachine components. The superalloy comprises a deliberate amount of iron up to 2.0% and preferably can exhibit structural properties comparable to a nickel-base superalloy without iron. Superalloys can be made using processes adapted to the advantageous utilization of scrap and waste materials of iron-containing alloys.
