Disclosed is a method for easily and efficiently separating and sorting in industrial quantities semiconducting and metallic SWCNTs from a material comprising a mixture of semiconducting and metallic SWCNTs; also disclosed are a separating/sorting device, and a dispersion solution which has been separated and sorted. The method involves a step for applying a DC voltage to the SWCNT-containing micelle dispersion solution in which SWCNTs are dispersed in a nonionic surfactant solution, and separating the SWCNTs into at least two layers: a SWCNT-containing micelle dispersion layer in which metallic SWCNTs are concentrated and the micelles have a positive charge on the whole, and a semiconducting SWCNT-containing micelle dispersion layer in which the micelles have no more than an extremely weak charge on the whole.
