PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disease-controlling agent for rice seedlings which is excellent in effects for controlling various rice diseases such as rice blast (Magnaporthe oryzae), rice sheath blight disease (Burkholderia glumae) and rice sheath blight disease (Rizoctinia sorani), has high safety, and is little in effects to environments, and to provide a controlling method using the same.SOLUTION: The disease-controlling agent for rice seedlings containing a rice Penicillium pinophilum having a germination-inhibiting ability to the rice seedling diseases is prepared. Strain YS-31 (NITE P-774) or its mutant can be used for the Penicillium pinophilum.
