PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of preventing development of or treating specific canine diseases. PSOLUTION: The method for treating canine diseases includes: measuring body fat of a dog having symptoms of (a) fungal or malassezia otitis externa, (b) pyoderma or (c) lameness; attributing the symptoms to the body fat percentage when the body fat percentage is 35%; and providing treatment to the dog so as to achieve a body fat percentage of 35%. Here, the provided treatment is diet management, provided that the diet management preferably includes feeding of diet containing diacylglyceride and/or high-amylose starch.
