A slurry acidification system (2) is provided for mounting on a vehicle (30). The slurry acidification system (2) comprises: - a tank (4) arranged for storing an acid or an acidic liquid, - a pump (52) provided in fluid communication with the tank (4), wherein the pump (52) is arranged for dosing the acid or the acidic liquid for an internal unit or for an external unit (92). The slurry acidification system (2) comprises a level meter (110) adapted to automatically detect overfill of the tank (4) in the form of detecting one or more predefined liquid levels (A, B, 0), the slurry acidification system (2) further comprises means for disconnecting the pump (52) in case of overfilling the tank (4).
