Method of improving the drying quality of solid fuels, in particular in an oxygen burning power plant (oxy-fuel),consists of integrating at least two power plants, one fuelled by solid fuel and the other by gas, favourably integrating a solid fuel combustion system in an oxygen-modified atmosphere with an oxygen-fuelled gas combustion system using waste nitrogen, produced in an oxygen tank (5) for sucking solid fuel, the integration of both systems also follows the vapour cycle side (4) so that the gas fuelling system and the solid fuel system have connections to one vapour system (4),where the oxygen-to-oxygen component air separation system (5) provides technical oxygen for the solid fuel combustion process and the gas fuel combustion process, with the amount of nitrogen waste from the oxygen heater going to the solid fuel dryer (9) increased as a result of the integration of both combustion processes,and the waste heat from the exhaust drying and compression systems (3, 7) is directed and used to heat nitrogen (8) prior to its introduction into the solid fuel dryer(9).
