METHOD OF REPRODUCING THE HETEROZYGOUS GENOTYPE OF HIGHER PLANTS ON THE BASIS OF CYTOPLASMIC MALE STERILITY

A method of reproducing the heterozygous genotype of higher plants on the basis of cytoplasmic male sterility involves the preparation of the original heterozygous genotype alternative-complementary homozygous lines that restore it when crossed, breeding and crossing of these lines. As a starting plant is heterozygous genotype they take a plant based on cytoplasmic male sterility genes and heterozygous fixing / restoring fertility, and a pair of lines are selected in such a way that one of the lines in the pair has male-fertile (restorer of fertility - SRƒRƒ), and the other -male - sterile (Srƒrƒ), for reproduction of which sterility fixer (Nrƒrƒ) is created, combining it with nuclear genome (rƒrƒ) of mitohondriomom with wild-type (N) by protoplast fusion male-sterile form with protoplasts donor mitochondria.
