The method for preventing osteomyelitis in bone fractures of the upper extremities involves the use of high-energy semiconductor laser of red spectrum, wavelength 980 nm, power of 7-8 W in continuous irradiation with exposure of 60-90 s applied to the surgical wound for treating the edges of bone fragments via monofilament light guide, 1 mm in diameter.
