A METHOD OF ORDERING BASED ON ESTIMATED TIME OF ARRIVAL

A method for prioritizing a transmitted order based upon a customer'sestimated timeof arrival comprises the steps of: transmitting an order to a vendor by acustomer via alocalization-capable device; identifying the location of the customer via thelocalization-capabledevice; calculating the estimated time of arrival of the customer at thevendorbased upon the customer's location; and placing the order in a queue with thevendor. Thequeue is arranged according to such criteria as the anticipated completiontime of pendingorders, and the anticipated completion time of the customer's ordercorresponds to thecustomer's estimated time of arrival at the vendor. While on route to thevendor, a newlocation of the customer via the localization-capable device is identified andan updatedestimated time of arrival of the customer at the vendor is calculated basedupon thecustomer's new location. Thereafter the position of the order in the queuebased upon theupdated estimated time of arrival is adjusted and the order is completed inrelation to theupdated estimated time of arrival.
