Disclosed is a conveyor belt with a lightweight high-strength steel wire rope core, comprising a core rubber (1), a steel wire rope core, an overlying rubber (3), a underlying rubber (4) and an edge rubber (5), wherein a steel wire rope (2) of the steel wire rope core comprises a rope core (2.1) and a plurality of strands of steel wires A (2.2), and also comprises a strand of steel wire B (2.3) which is helically twisted at the periphery of the plurality of strands of steel wires A (2.2) in the length direction of the steel wire rope (2). Compared with existing conveyer belts, the strength of a single steel wire rope used by the conveyer belt is enhanced, and the diameter thereof is reduced, thereby facilitating dense arrangement, so that the thickness of the conveyer belt is reduced, the weight thereof is reduced, and the materials and transportation costs are saved.
