According to a first aspect, the invention relates to a method for selective reading in a digital publication by a user using a reader (R, C), wherein the digital publication comprises pages with locked content, the method comprising:- Receiving a page selection (S2) from an overview of a pre-selection of the digital publication;- When the selected page is a page with locked content, authorizing a display of the content of the selected page according to a quota;- Displaying the content of the selected page (S4) if the display is authorized;- Updating the quota (S33) upon the page with locked content displayed.
