Disclosed in the present invention is a method for detecting damage to a structure based on acceleration and a strain rate value. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the method for detecting damage to a structure based on acceleration and a strain rate value comprises: a strain rate value measuring step which measures the strain rate value of a structure by attaching multiple strain gauges along a longitudinal direction of the structure; a strain rate based displacement calculating step which calculates the displacement of the structure using the strain rate measured in the strain rate value measuring step; an acceleration measuring step which measures the acceleration of the structure by attaching an accelerometer at a specific point on the structure; an acceleration based displacement calculating step which calculates the displacement of the structure using the acceleration measured in the acceleration measuring step; and a neutral axis position calculating step which calculates the initial neutral axis position at the time of the installation of the structure by converting individual displacement calculated in the strain rate based displacement calculating step and in the acceleration based displacement calculating step into frequency areas and comparing first modes with each other.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2015
