The present invention relates to an automatic irrigation system, and more specifically, to a greenbelt automatic irrigation system for reducing rainwater outflow and forming urban landscape which stores rainwater in a rainwater storage unit at start of rainfall and when a rainfall stop sensing signal is input to a control unit in a rain sensing unit, periodically controls the rainwater to be irrigated into each flowerpot installed in a greenbelt guardrail in the rainwater storage unit after a predetermined period, wherein the installed flowerpot is changeable such that various urban landscapes are formed and non-point pollutants of a road are reduced. Accordingly, the greenbelt automatic irrigation system for reducing rainwater outflow and forming urban landscape comprises: the rainwater storage unit which is buried and installed at a roadside, a boundary portion between a road and a sidewalk, and formed with an introducing pipe for introducing rainwater at one side and a discharging pipe for discharging the introduced rainwater at the other side; a transfer pump which is provided with a buoyant material in order to be floated on the surface of the rainwater stored in the rainwater storage unit and transfers the stored rainwater while moving upward and downward according to the water level of the stored rainwater; the greenbelt guardrail which is connected to the transfer pump by an irrigation means, installed in the boundary portion between the road and the sidewalk, and has the flowerpot to plant vegetation; the rainfall sensing unit which is installed on the ground to make a signal with respect to whether the vegetation of the greenbelt guardrail is irrigated or not and senses whether rain falls or not; and the control unit which applies a control signal to the transfer pump according to the signal input from the rainfall sensing unit.
