The present invention relates to a composition containing a compound isolated from a Japanese apricot extract for preventing or treating osteoporosis. The compound induces the differentiation of osteoblasts, but has an excellent effect of inhibiting the differentiation of osteoclasts, and thus can be useful for the treatment of osteoporosis.
