The present invention relates to a patch panel for managing an intelligent patch cord in an interconnect type network communication network and a patch cord management system having the same. The patch cord management system comprises: a patch cord including a connection detection terminal separately arranged on the outer surface of a cord connector housing; a patch panel including a plurality of detection units having first and second detection terminals to clear the electrical connection when a cord connector is mounted on a cord port; and a control part to determine whether both ends of the patch cord are connected to the patch panel or a network switch connected to the patch cord.
