A parallel processing apparatus for semantic heterogeneity of ontology matching includes: a system interaction unit configured to interact with a participating cloud node to receive an ontology matching request; a matching unit configured to provide a matching library including a matching algorithm for ontology matching; a parallel ontology calling unit configured to parse candidate ontology in parallel according to the received ontology matching request, and to generate an ontology model object based on the parsed candidate ontology; and a task distribution unit configured to divide the generated ontology model object into two or more partial objects, and to allocate the divided two or more partial objects to available computing cores on a multi-core cloud platform, respectively.
