The present invention relates to a method for decomposing poorly degradable organic compounds comprising a process of decomposing the poorly degradable organic compounds by activating persulfate through a reaction of zero-valent iron and persulfate wherein the method can be useful for remediation of soil and groundwater by effectively eliminating the poorly degradable organic compounds included in soil or groundwater.
