The present invention relates to a smart automatic library system and, more specifically, to a smart automatic library and an automatic library management system, capable of allowing users to rent and return books by themselves. The system includes a book shelf; a door for opening a front part of the book shelf; a user interface part for inputting a password; a wireless tag reader for reading wireless tag information attached to books; an ID card reader reading personal information printed on a library card or ID card inserted into a slot; a controller controlling the door by confirming whether the ID card or library card is authenticated or not, and allowing the ID card or library card to be ejected from the slot only when the books are normally rented or returned; and a communication part transceiving at least one among rental and return information by member, possessed book information, and member information with a management system placed in a remote place.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2016
