Provided is an apparatus for collecting surface layer sub-marine sediment, comprising a cover unit connected to a trigger device, having a cylindrical shape with an open lower end, and having a position maintaining unit provided therein, a holder unit coupled to the position maintaining unit and having a hollow formed in a length direction, a pipe-type sediment collecting unit having one end detachably coupled to a lower end of the holder unit, having a receiving space for receiving sub-marine sediment therein, a head unit having one end installed in the other end of the sediment collecting unit, having a hollow formed therein, and having an insertion blade formed on the edge of the other end such that the sediment collecting unit is inserted into the sub-marine surface layer unit, and a catcher unit installed in an inner circumferential portion of the head unit and allowing introduction of sub-marine sediment to the receiving space of the sediment collecting unit by elasticity, while preventing loss of introduced sub-marine sediment.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2015
