The present invention relates to a remote wireless reader based on the imaging of a meter and a remote reading device using the same to smoothly carry out wireless transmission by converting an image taken by a meter to text-based data and wireless transmitting it to significantly reduce a wireless transmission capacity. The remote reading device comprises the remote wireless reader (200) and a reading server (400). The remote wireless reader (200) comprises: an imaging part (210) for taking an image of a meter installed with an integration display part (100) to produce a reading image based on the imaging of the meter; and a main control part (240) which receives the meter imaging based reading image inputted by the imaging part (210) and recognizes binary information corresponding to numeric information for an information displaying color including a crossing number to convert it to numeric information for text-based reading. The reading server (400) receives the numeric information for text-based reading transmitted from the remote wireless reader (200) to charge a fee based on the numeric information for text-based reading.
