The present invention relates to a manufacturing method of an absorbent for removing acid or alkaline and neutral sources of offensive odor using an aluminum-based byproduct and an absorbent manufactured by the method. An absorbent for removing offensive odor with an aluminum-based byproduct as an initial material using sludge in water purification and waste sludge, thereby preventing secondary pollution caused by waste treatment of sludge and reducing costs. According to the present invention, a manufacturing method of an absorbent for removing alkaline and neutral sources of offensive odor using aluminum-based byproduct comprises: a first step for manufacturing a granular absorbent comprising a pellet and a sphere with an aluminum-based byproduct as an initial material; a second step for carbonizing as maintaining the absorbent at the temperature in the range of 450-550C for 15-30 minutes in a vacuum state so as to broaden the specific surface area of the absorbent; and a third step for impregnating at least one from transition metals comprising manganese with the carbonized absorbent.
