FIELD: physics, optics.;SUBSTANCE: invention relates to finishing of optical elements with the help of MRF. Proposed method comprises fastening of optical element in optical holder. The latter has multiple control points applied on optical element. First metrological map for optical elements and multiple control points is produced. Second metrological map for optical elements without multiple control points is produced. Map of difference between said first and second metrological maps is generated. Mathematical test points are placed on second metrological map with application of said map of difference to generate the third metrological map and to reference it to optical element. Optical element is secured at the tool for MRF to remove multiple control points and to finish said optical element. Invention covers also the system for finishing of optical elements.;EFFECT: higher quality of optical elements, higher efficiency of MRF.;18 cl, 12 dwg
