The device has an upper part representing a transparent plate (1) through which a reader reads pages of a book, and a lower part representing a cushion made of padded cloth (2). The plate is reclinable for providing comfort to a reader. The cushion is incorporated at a base on which head of the reader rests. Cylindrical bars (3) form the lower part. The plate and the cushion are connected together by telescopic side rods (4). The rods have toothed attachment point (6) and notches (7) at ends to obtain degree of inclination of the plate. The side rods regulate distance between the parts.
