A quick release slip lead for dogs. The lead utilizes two welded rings of different sizes, 4a 4b to create a handle 3, control lead 6 and collar 5 which can be released quickly by the handler. The collar is formed by passing the end of the control lead through the rings. The handler subsequently holds both the handle and the free end of the control lead. The animal is released by letting go of the free end of the control lead. The handle features an adjuster 2 and is ergonomically designed with a 90 degree twist. The lead may be made from leather or any other suitable material and may be fixed where necessary using stitching and or rivets 1.
