COMPOSITE MATERIAL MADE OF METAL AND CERAMIC, METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING A COMPOSITE OF METAL AND CERAMIC, AND USE OF A COMPOUND MATERIAL FOR COMPONENTS IN DIRECT CONTACT WITH ALUMINIUM MELTING
Use of a ductile composite of metal and a titanium-containing ceramic for components that are in direct contact with aluminum melts. The ductile composite material used consists of 40 to 99% by volume of metal, in particular steel, and 1 to 60% by volume of a ceramic containing titanium compounds. In this case, products are used which are shaped by pressing at room temperature of granules or powders or fibers of metal and ceramic, casting methods based on metalloceramic slips on an aqueous or nonaqueous basis or extrusion processes on the basis of room-temperature plasticized, kneadable metalloceramic materials are then dried, debinded and sintered under a protective gas atmosphere or vacuum in the temperature range 1000 ° C to 1500 ° C.
