The invention is related to a spectrophotometric method for determining the gold content in solutions, porous structures or at the surfaces of solids, especially the ones containing golden nano-objects, consisting in that the gold complexes, in the form of lithium, sodium, potassium or ammonium tetrabromoaurate(III), are formed in the assayed sample.
