PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a therapeutic/prophylactic technique for breast inflammation without using antibiotics.SOLUTION: The invention provides a therapeutic/prophylactic composition for breast inflammation in domestic animals wherein cassis fruit extract is contained as an active ingredient. The invention also provides a therapeutic/prophylactic method for breast inflammation in domestic animals, the method characterized by making the domestic animals ingest the cassis fruit extract. Preferably, the domestic animal is a bovine. Preferably, therapeutic/prophylactic composition for breast inflammation is a feed for domestic animals. In the cassis fruit extract, at least the whole fruit extract of cassis, the peel extract of cassis, the pulp extract of cassis, and the seed extract of cassis are included. In the cassis fruit extract, at least the compressed residue of cassis fruits and the compressed liquid of cassis fruits is included.SELECTED DRAWING: None
