SOLUTION: There are provided a preservation/transportation method in which DNA, community structure of living things etc. may be maintained, preserved and transported for a long time period at an ordinary temperature by adjusting concentration of guanidine thiocyanate in solution of guanidine thiocyanate containing 100 mM Tris-HCl (pH9.0) and 40 mM EDTA within 0.01 M or more to less than 4 M, a preservation/transportation method capable of being used for soil, sludge, liquid etc. of environmental sample containing a variety of living things, feces saliva, blood etc. of a living sample, and a preservation/transportation method which comprises protein denaturation agent and with which an infection sample and a clinical sample are safely handled without restriction in transportation by realizing a state where the cell lysed so that cultivation and infection are not carried out.EFFECT: Each of preservation/transportation methods may be newly provided. Particularly, it may be used in a variety of molecular biological method using analysis of community structure of living things and DNA. In addition, collection/transportation/storing container may be provided, in which a sample may be collected, transported and stored by using any of the above methods.SELECTED DRAWING: None
