PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a train running status detector and a train running status detection method capable of accurately detecting a train running status from a tachogenerator, and realizing highly accurate train control.;SOLUTION: A train running status detector 1 comprises: a tachogenerator 2 outputting a frequency in proportion to a train velocity; a waveform converter unit 3 converting waveforms of a plurality of frequencies transmitted from the tachogenerator 2 and different in phase to pulses; a pulse count unit 5 counting rising or falling edges of the pulses; and a train running status detection unit 4 detecting a train running status from data on the pulses counted per sample time. Furthermore, a train running status detection method comprises: a step of generating a plurality of pulses different in phase from the tachogenerator 2; a step of counting rising or falling edges of frequencies per sampling time from the pulses different in phase; and a step of detecting the train running status from the pulse data.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2016,JPO&INPIT
