PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lead acid battery preventing a dendrite short circuit occurring at an upper side part of a separator.SOLUTION: A lead acid battery includes an electrode plate group in which a positive electrode plate and a negative electrode plate are disposed with a sheet-like separator 1 interposed therebetween. The thickness of the separator at an upper side part is thinner than the thickness of the separator at a lower side part. In particular, ribs 11 are formed from an upper side to a lower side on the surface of the separator 1, and the rib height at an upper side part 1x of the separator 1 is lower than the rib height at a lower side part 1y of the separator 1.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
