LAMINATED LITHIUM-RICH COMPLEX METAL OXIDE HIGH IN SPECIFIC CAPACITY AND SUPERIOR IN CYCLE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a positive electrode active composition high in specific capacity and superior in cycle; and a lithium base battery arranged by use thereof.SOLUTION: A positive electrode active composition comprises: a lithium metal oxide enriched with lithium and manganese, and expressed by the following compositional formula approximately: xLiMnO(1-x)LiNiMnCoAO, where x is at least about 0.03 up to about 0.47; the absolute value of is about 0.3 or less, roughly; 2u+w+y is about one(1); w is within a range of 0-1; u is within a range of 0-0.5; and y is about 0.1 or less, with the provision that both of (u+) and w never become zero(0), and a fluorine dopant which is an option may be substituted with about 10 mol% or less of oxygen. The positive electrode active composition is subjected to a large initial irreversible change in cycle, but it becomes stable in cycle after the initial turn cycle.
