The present invention relates to a method for producing a matrix-type granular composite fertilizer having delayed action with an increased fertilizer utilization rate, and a matrix-type granular composite fertilizer obtained by the method. A method according to the present invention comprises a step of mixing a natural or synthetic polymer as a binder and a filler having a nutrient absorption capacity, drying, and then pulverizing to produce an additive having a nutrient absorption capacity. A step of producing a matrix-type granular composite fertilizer by uniformly mixing and drying the additive having nutrient absorption capacity and a fertilizer component. [Selection] Figure 1
