PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cubic crystal type sialon capable of enhancing abrasion resistance and defect resistance of a sintered body when used as a material for the sintered body, the sintered body containing the cubic crystal type sialon, a tool with the sintered body, a manufacturing method of the cubic crystal type sialon and a manufacturing method of the sintered body.SOLUTION: A cubic crystal type sialon is represented by the following formula (1): MSiAlON, where M is a first metal containing at least one selected from a group consisting of calcium, strontium, barium, scandium, yttrium, lanthanoid, manganese, iron, cobalt, nickel, copper, the IV group elements, the V group elements and the VI group elements in the periodic table, and relationships of 0.01≤x≤2, 0.01≤y≤4.2 and 1.79≤(6-x-y)≤5.98 are satisfied.SELECTED DRAWING: None
