PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a hydrophobic cluster compound composite having sufficient water solubility or water dispersibility for practical use.;SOLUTION: A method for producing a composite of a hydrophobic cluster compound and a β-1,3-1,6 glucan includes the steps of: mixing the hydrophobic cluster compound, that is carborane, fullerene, carbon nanotube or the like, or a metal such as nickel, cobalt, rhodium, ruthenium, platinum, gold or silver or an oxide of such a metal, with the β-1,3-1,6 glucan which has a branching degree of β-1,6 bond to β-1,3 bond of 50-100% in an alkaline solution; and neutralizing the resulting mixture by adding an acid having carboxyl thereto.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2014,JPO&INPIT
