A framework for notifying and soliciting users to join in joint sessions

A notification framework and method for quickly sending an invitation from one device to another to add the device to a collaborative session. The device may provide an application that allows a user to register with the registry service. Registry services are provided as a mechanism to deliver joint invitations and allow participants to participate in joint sessions. The notification invitation including the joint URL is then sent via the push service to the invited registrant. Each invited registrant is then provided with an option to accept the invitation and automatically add the user to the session. In another example, the host user may “send” or “share” the session to the invited registrant rather than having the invited registrant join the session. [Selection figure] None
