PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To support design of production lines so that the number of man-hours from design to installation of production lines involving transfer of workpieces can be decreased.;SOLUTION: A storage section (DB11) stores device information and control program information relating to interlock between functional units for each of several types of functional units which are included in a production line. A designer selects a necessary number of desired functional units from among the several types of functional units, combines the selected functional units, decides specifications of the production line and establishes relationship between a plurality of functional units constituting the production line. In a design support method, the design support device 1 receives information on the established relationship between the functional units, reads from the storage section the device information and control program information included in the received information, for each functional unit, performs device allocation on the basis of device information so that interlock signals may not overlap one another, and generates a facility program for the production line by rewriting and combining the read device information in the control programs.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2014,JPO&INPIT
