regenerable ionic liquid solvents for acid-gas separation. A solvent system comprising an ionic liquid formed of a relatively acid component and a nitrogenous base for removal of acid gases from mixed gas streams is provided. A process for removing acid gases from the mixed gas streams using the disclosed solvent system is also provided. The solvent system may be used within a gas processing system.
