The present invention relates to compounds of the general formula I where the groups R, R, X and Y have the meanings indicated in claim 1, which have valuable pharmacological properties, in particular, they bind to AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK) and modulate its activity. The compounds are useful for treating and preventing diseases that are affected by this receptor, such as metabolic diseases, in particular type 2 diabetes.
