TELE-NEURO/SOMNO/COGNO-METRY- AN APPROACH TO BRAIN WAVES MONITORING USING CLOUD COMPUTING FOR REMOTE CLINICAL DIAGNOSTICS, DECISION AND CARE FOR SLEEP, MENTAL AND COGNITIVE
Abstract: Method and apparatus for remote monitoring of brain waves through cloud, for diagnostics, decision and care, for sleep, mental and cognitive based disorders. The system comprising of an EEG sensor module (1) for obtaining the bio -potentials from a single or plurality of locations of the brain, a signal conditioning unit (2) for amplification and removal of the electrical and motion artifacts of the said bio-signals, headset powered by a source (3), followed by a modulating unit (4), which performs either analog modulation and frequency division multiplexing, or conversion of the said analog bio -signals to digital form and perform time division multiplexing. The communication unit (5) transmitting either the analog signal directly or digital data through any of the sh ift keying schemes, in a wireless manner to a device (6) which performs compressive sensing, authentication and validation of the EEG data to be transmitted to the cloud based system (7), in a wireless manner. The bio-signals are processed further by the system (8), which performs analysis, diagnosis, detection, and communicates the appropriate person(s) for necessary medical attention and care. The device (9) stores the bio-signals, subject related information, medical history, to provide a common platform for the physicians and scientists for further research and development and a convenient way to continue medication, in the event of relocation of the subject, physician and/or the facility. Device (10) enables the physicians to communicate with the said cloud based system (7), to rev iew the diagnosis, evaluate the therapy, provide feedback or course of treatment, and configure the monitor settings of the said sensor module (1) and the biofeedback module and stimuli based therapy settings (11).
