DRILL JIG FOR LOCKING BOLT DRILLING ON MLG CROSS PIN OF IJT AIRCRAFT

IJT-LSP, HAL is a Limited series production agency for manufacturing of IJT (Intermediate Jet Trainer) aircraft by working on Concurrent Engineering concept. IJT aircraft is des igned by HAL. This aircraft is designed for Stage II training of pilots. IJT-LSP has cockpit with twin tandem seats with good visibility for the pilots, modern Active Matrix Liquid Crystal Displays and Head -Up Display (HUD). The aircraft is equipped with a Mission Computer and Integrated Avionics system. 1000 kg of external stores carrying capacity allows fitment of various armaments and fuel drop tanks on the aircraft for effective training. During the build of aircraft, with concurrent engineering philosophy, lot of innovations were implemented to achieve quality product, to maintain interchangeability and reduction in cycle time. One out of these improvements is development of a Drill Jig for Locking Bolt drilling on MLG Cross Pin of IJT aircraft to eliminate manual marking & drilling for Locking Bolt on MLG Cross Pin. It has improved quality and reduced the cycle time and human efforts.
