Annexure-lll ABSTRACT Title: Concept of Landing Gear Side Load Transfer Though Single Inboard Structural.bracket for Weight- Optimization Abstract: Landing gear is meant for absorbing energy while landing with specified descent velocity and for taxing and towing. The' landing loads are transferred to structure through structural attachments. Landing gear is attached to the aircraft structure which is designed to withstand landing loads. During landing vertical, drag and side loads are experienced by the landing gear which in turn transfers the loads through a predetermined load path to structure. Structure brackets are designed to withstand these loads without deflections and with stresses within limits. By limiting transfer of side load to one of the structural brackets, with intentional gap on outboard side, weight optimization can be achieved.
