The machine is provided with: a field current detector (110) for detecting field current flowing through a field winding; a field current controller (100) for computing on the basis of the detected field current value a duty cycle for energization of the field winding and for employing a switching element to control energization of the field winding; and a field current correction part (120) for estimating on the basis of the field current control status a point in time that the field current will go to 0 A identifying a field current correction value equivalent to the detected field current value that was detected by the field current detector at the estimated point in time and subtracting the field current correction value from the detected field current value to calculate a corrected field current v alue.
