This invention relates to a process for decreasing the pour point of waxy crude oils comprising the steps of separate heating crude oil and surfactant to ensure that they melt completely, mixing the melted crude oil with the melted surfactant to form a mixture, followed by stirring the mixture at the doping temperature for homogenization, cooling the mixture to room temperature, followed by cooling the same so that the liquid stops flowing at the pour point.
